Homemade Cherry Pie Filling

Serves: Enough for a 9 inch pie
Ingredients
  • ⅔ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • 4 c. fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1½ cups water
  • 2 TBSP lemon juice
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, mix sugar, cornstarch, salt, and cherries.
  2. Pour mixture into a large saucepan, add water and lemon juice.
  3. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 3-4 minutes or until thickened. Remove from the heat.
