Homemade Cherry Pie Filling

Serves: Enough for a 9 inch pie
- ⅔ cup sugar
- ¼ cup cornstarch
- ¼ tsp. salt
- 4 c. fresh cherries, pitted
- 1½ cups water
- 2 TBSP lemon juice
- In a large bowl, mix sugar, cornstarch, salt, and cherries.
- Pour mixture into a large saucepan, add water and lemon juice.
- Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 3-4 minutes or until thickened. Remove from the heat.
