Day 5! Man, the time is definitely flying by. I think all of our adventures caught up to us on this day. We both were so exhausted, even after a night of sleep.
All the non-resort breakfast places that we wanted to check out were at least a 20 - 30 minute drive away. While normally that wouldn't be an issue, today we just wanted to stay nearby. We ended up going back to the place we ate breakfast the first day. Bob was craving another Loco Moco.
Day 4: Big Island Style
Day 3: Big Island Style
Sunday. You know what that means? Football! Normally, we are used to watching football early in the morning at 10am because of the time change. But here, it comes on at 7am, as there is another 3 hr time change from Cali!
Bob got up and supported his Browns! And they.....Lost! I was really hoping for a win!
Breakfast? We ate in our room today. Leftover malasadas from our adventure yesterday! Plus, drink wise had my favorite juice - POG ( Passion Orange Guava). Of course, they didn't taste
Day 2: Big Island Style
Poor Bob, he definitely got too much sun yesterday and got sunburned. (He's definitely a "white" boy.) He woke up a few times in the middle of the night for me to put aloe lotion on for him. It definitely helped and reduced the redness greatly just after a few coats.
So, when thinking about what we would do on our adventure today, I knew it should not involve a lot of sun. I figured today would be a great day to drive around and venture.
Day 1: Big Island Style
If you have never flown into Kona before, the planes do not pull up to a gate. They actually Land directly on the Tarmac and they pull a staircase up to the door of the plane.
It was late in the evening when we arrived, so unfortunately we could not see a thing during our drive from the airport to the hotel. It was about a 25-30 min drive from the airport. We were both exhausted and ready to get checked in.
