Today was a low key day. After sleeping in, we got ready and picked up Bob’s friend to grab a bite to eat. Now typically when traveling, I try to avoid chain restaurants. I love trying unique and different restaurants. However, there is one particular restaurant Bob and I enjoy everytime we are in the area – Lucille’s BBQ. It’s a chain out here on the west coast.
Up until very recently, they did not have any locations near our place. Their Sweet Tea is amazing and a must. I also always get a “half-size” order of Fried Okra. I’d be happy with just that, but decided to get some Southern Fried Chicken so I could enjoy all 3 BBQ sauces – Original, Hot & Spicy, and Memphis BBQ. Be sure to try their Biscuits and Apple Butter!
The meal did not disappoint! We all were beyond stuffed. Good thing his friend is local – to take home some leftovers! We needed to burn some of these calories off. So glad we planned to go bowling afterwards!
I was so excited to go bowling – it’s been awhile since I have gone. We headed out to Red Rock Lanes at Red Rock Casino.
They have 72 lanes with automated scoring and automatic bumpers that you can set up individually for the kids (if needed). Tons of TV’s and bowling bowls to choose from. They have cosmic bowling Friday and Saturday nights! They also have shuffle board, pool tables, dart boards, an arcade, and a full service snack bar!
We ended up playing 2 games – had a blast! The lanes were somewhat on the slippery slide with my particular bowling shoes, so I was hoping to not fall on my behind.
After lots of fun and laughs, we decided to head back to the hotel to relax for a bit. We were still full from our lunch, so we skipped on going out on dinner (however, we did grab a late night slice of pizza in the cafe at our hotel – I do not recommend. So greasy, I knew I couldn’t eat it or I would not be feeling good the following day.) Ended up just hanging out at Tropicana casino, finished up watching the evening basketball games, and placed our bets for Sunday’s games.
I was ready to call it a night. I was exhausted from bowling. Click HERE to read about our final day!
